Write a prompt for your assistant

If you would rather have an AI assistant build the page than write the HTML yourself, this writes the brief for it. Answer what you can, copy the result, and paste it wherever you work — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Cursor or anything else.

Assistants are good at this particular job. The hard part of a dashboard is choosing a handful of useful panes and laying them out so they reflow properly, and both are well described in writing — which is what the files below are for. What assistants are bad at is knowing they cannot reach those files. Left to themselves they build the page from a general sense of how embedded widgets work, invent pane names that look plausible, and hand back something that renders nothing.

So the prompt this page writes does two things beyond passing on your requirements: it names the files to read in full, and it tells the assistant to stop and say so if it cannot read them.

You do not need an account to get a complete, styled page out of this. Panes with no access key render clearly-marked mock data, so the design work is finished before you sign up for anything.

1 What is the page for?

Who reads it, and what they need to see. The more specific this is, the better the shortlist you get back.

2 Which clouds?

One page can show several at once, and several accounts of the same one. Leave them all unticked to let the assistant ask.

3 What should it focus on?

Optional. Leave it blank and the assistant proposes what fits the purpose you described.

4 Brand colours

Optional. Panes restyle to two colours; the status colours stay as they are, because red meaning critical is meaning rather than branding.

5 Can your assistant browse the web?

It needs to read five files describing the panes. If it cannot reach the internet, download them and put them where it can see them.
